Razer Blade Stealth 13: Probably the lightest gaming laptop in the world in hands-on video

Razer swims against the stream.  While the competition in gaming laptops is more on 17-inch devices, Razer keeps its notebooks compact and lightweight.  With the new Razer Blade Stealth 13, the company claims to be the "world's first gaming Ultrabook" before.  GIGA reveals in a hands-on of the IFA 2019, which hardware is in the handy gaming notebook and how
 it costs a lot.

Razer Blade Stealth 13 in hands-on: That's in the gaming ultrabook

First things first: Instead of a rather low-performance MX graphics solution from Nvidia, Razer installs an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 in the new Blade Stealth 13 for the first time. This ensures a noticeable performance boost in games, so that the Ultrabook can now also be used with a clear conscience for one or the other gaming machine.  Session can be used.

Razer swims against the stream.  While the competition in gaming laptops is more on 17-inch devices, Razer keeps its notebooks compact and lightweight.  With the new Razer Blade Stealth 13, the company claims to be the "world's first gaming Ultrabook" before.  GIGA reveals you in a hands-on of the IFA 2019, which hardware is in the handy gaming notebook and how much it costs.

At the IFA 2019 we were able to try out the device for the first time and were pleasantly surprised: Forza Horizon 4 ran on the Full HD model in high graphics settings with 50-60 frames per second.  During the briefing we learned that Wolfenstein: Youngblood should achieve a similar level of performance on medium settings.

Admittedly, the two games are among the better-optimized PC games in recent history, but this does not demolish the result.  However, the hardware equipment is not enough for gambling in 4K resolution - one should not expect that from a laptop weighing around 1.4 kilograms.

In the processor Razer attacks Intel's brand new Ice Lake chips.  All three variants of the Blade Stealth 13 feature an i7-1065G7, a power-efficient quad-core processor that supports hyperthreading as usual.  If you want to save a bit of money, the variant without Nvidia graphics chip - the Mercury White version.  In contrast to most of the product portfolio, Razer does not opt for a black finish this time, but rather a silver-white look (see cover picture).

Good to know: The 4K model of the new Blade Stealth 13 also features an IPS panel.  Razer only installs OLED displays on devices with a 15- or 17-inch display

The most important technical data and equipment options of the Razer Blade Stealth 13 at a glance:

 display
13.3 inches Full HD IPS panel @ 60 Hz
 13.3 inch 4K Touch IPS Panel @ 60 Hz

Operating system Windows 10 Home 64-bit

1.39 kilograms (GTX 1650, Full HD display)
 1.47 kilograms (GTX 1650, 4K display)
Razer Balde Stealth 13: Prices and Availability
By the end of September 2019, Razer's new gaming ultrabooks will be available in the US and Canada, and customers from Germany will soon be able to purchase the devices online.  In terms of costs, we are clearly in the upper price segment here: Razer's new version of Mercury White is the only version without the GTX 1650 and is expected to cost around 1,680 euros.

Those who opt for the black Full HD or 4K version with dedicated graphics solution, must dig deeper into the bag.  For the Full HD version will be around 2,000 euros due, the upgrade to 4K touch display costs another 200 euros.

What do you say to Razers approach to equip now 13-inch devices with a reasonably powerful graphics card?  Does that make sense in your opinion?  Or would Razer would rather continue to rely on the low-power MX models to increase the battery life of the device?  Write us your opinion in the comments.
